Google Is Fixing Yet Another Pixel 2 Bug

Google has acknowledged yet another Pixel 2 bug, while also promising to squash it soon. This particular bug means some handsets emit a low buzzing sound. Which is obviously far from ideal. Still, like almost everything these days, it can be fixed at a later date with an update.

The Pixel 2 is meant to be Google’s new flagship smartphone. And in our review of the Pixel 2 we gave it top marks in many areas, asking, “Is This The Best Smartphone Ever?” It may be, but it would be churlish to deny the Pixel 2 has shipped with a lot of annoying issues in need of fixing.

Another Day, Another Pixel 2 Issue

First, the Pixel 2 XL suffered from screen burn-in issues, which Google quickly fixed with a patch. Then there were reports of a clicking noise affecting some Pixel 2 handsets, which, again, Google fixed via an update. And now, another annoying Pixel 2 bug has reared its ugly head.

This particular bug means some Pixel 2 owners can hear a high-frequency sound when the screen is on and held up to their ear. Which, seeing as that’s how you make phone calls, and how making phone calls is a rather essential job for any smartphone, is clearly a bit of a problem.
