Unable to log into Webmail

As a user of Makerere webmail. You could have fallen into a situation where by you are unable to log into your email.

Here are some of the reasons why you could be unable to log into your email. 

  1. Forgotten Password - You can contact DICTS at helpme@dicts.mak.ac.ug and it will be reset, then you will be able to log in and change it.
  2. Are you seeing an 'Invalid ID or Password' error message when you try to sign in to your account?
    Get back in to your account using these basic troubleshooting steps:
    Is your CAPS LOCK key on? Try entering your password again using the correct uppercase and lowercase letters.
    Have you changed your password within the last 24 hours? You'll need to wait 24 hours before using your new password. 
  3. You Can Log in But see nothing - the database is being dropped - Contact DICTS for help.
  4. Locked Out of the ACCOUNT - You will have to contacts DICTS so that your unlocked.
  5. HACKED ACCOUNT - A hacker could have hacked into your account and changed your password. For this to be handled still contact DICTS.
  6. Is your Web browser saving old info?
    You can fix this by clearing your browser’s cache and cookies, restarting your browser, and signing in again.
  7. The Mail Server Is Down - The mail server could be down and still you have to contact DICTS for help.
