In a bid to improve Network and Internet Performance, DICTS Team led by the Networks Unit, embarked on another phase of getting the MAKERERE College of Health Sciences on board. The sole purpose of the exercise is to IMPROVE INTERNET EXPERIENCE FOR ALL.
A communication was sent to deliberate exactly what what would be achieved and here are a few excerpts.
Successful completion of the exercise will result into:
(i) Improved backbone network performance and resilience.
(ii) Improved provisioning/management of MAK-network resources such as
bandwidth.
(ii) Improved user experience on the MAK-network.

The DICTS team worked on the core switches that needed the re-configuration to the pre-planned configs that were already set out for use.
Here is what transpired.
1. Old Configs Backed up and New Configs put in place after wiping the switches off
2. Tested connectivity and it was there.
3. Asked the MAK-CHS team to configure the vlans with the settings for each unit and connectivity was also tested and it was ok
4. We asked the team as well to make sure the wireless APs are configured to the required settings.
