What to do When There is Intermittent power supply

You are here

Intermittent Power Supply

Due to intermittent power which happens to us in MAKERERE:-

  1. You are requested to make sure all your ICT equipment (Computers, Printers, Intercom Phones) are connected to a functioning UPS which is meant to provide stable power and minimise damage.
  2. If you don’t have a UPS, unplug your equipment during power outages to avoid damage. This is also encouraged when leaving work for home because you never know what happens during the night.

Note: This message also applies to unit/college IT technicians (systems and network administrators). You are encouraged to switch off switches and routers within your units during intermittent power supply and also make sure you are always connected to a functioning UPS.

It's the responsibility of your unit/college to provide you with a functioning UPS and also repair broken ones. Please follow up with your units.

Why UPS is Important?

This will minimise loss of data and damage to our ICT equipment.

Recommendation

Make sure all critical systems are running on UPS
