The Importance of error codes
You are here
We have all encountered errors at some point while browsing or typing a document or installing software. For some they can not understand that the error is actually a message pointing to something that should be done to address it. Any serious I.T administrator will ask you if you encountered an error and what error it is, most of these codes have been documented by software developers to enable Systems Administrators or end users understand what is at hand so that they can address.
Let us take this example,
error code: 0x8004ff00
possible reason for error: Another Windows installer may be running.
what to do now: See I can't install Microsoft Security Essentials for more details.
DICTS recommends that errors should be taken seriously and addressed. DICTS advises uses to report to their systems administrators for further action, if it fails with them, then they can contact us using our helpme@dicts.mak.ac.ug email address
