In a bid to continue increasing your cyber security awareness and also preaching the gospel of safe computing. Firefox one of the most secure browsers has introduced a new feature that can help you to check if your email address has been hacked against know security breaches.
We continue to surf the internet and wonder how certain people or organizations got your email address. Many times, they are companies or people you have never known about and they are sending your information about their products and services in a bid to get you as one of their clients or generally hack into your account and steal your information with misleading links to sites that aren't secure and will store your password. I hope by now many of us know that an http site isn't secure while the secure one is http(s).
The new feature introduced by Firefox is called Firefox Monitor. All you have to do is open this link and get to the section that says enter your email address and then a scan will be performed and a report sent to your email address about your status.
We know very well that hackers aren't sleeping and that security breaches will always happen. One of the things you can do is to use different passwords to your different accounts, this at least limits your exposure.
Also use strong passwords, they must be alphanumeric in nature and we also encourage you to keep a critical back up of your important information.
